We serve four major geographic areas for our Academy+ youth soccer training programs: West Austin/Lake Travis, Cedar Park/Leander, Pflugerville/Round Rock, and Mueller & East/Central Austin Areas. We will be leveraging HOA, City, County, and ISD facilities. The current plan is to conduct youth soccer training sessions on weekdays and some Fridays, depending on registration numbers and field availability.
Stellar Academy: Individual Player Development
Academy/Pre-Select Approach
Stellar Football Club's philosophy at the Academy level emphasizes individual player development over team development. This approach involves incorporating appropriate soccer training techniques at the right developmental stages tailored to each player's unique needs. Most importantly, travel is limited to provide more opportunities for youth soccer players to develop their skills. We strongly focus on fundamentals as we progress our players into their Select stages.
We also implement a concept known as bio-banding, where we align players according to their physical development alongside their chronological age.
These innovative concepts stand in contrast to conventional club culture and are key features that set Stellar apart from other club programs. Stellar's vision and approach is the first of its kind in the state.

Coaching and Training
Stellar Coaches are composed of experienced players, technical trainers, and on-field leaders who specialize in youth soccer development. Our coaches are unique in that all Stellar Coaches are either current or former high-level players, highly technical trainers, and tactical leaders within the realm of soccer training. Additionally, we maintain a lower coach-to-player ratio to ensure personalized attention.
While all clubs and levels of play have coaches, not all of them possess the qualifications needed to train technical skills, manage games tactically, and lead young players with confidence in the context of youth soccer.
If you are evaluating clubs and notice that your potential coach is not actively leading technical sessions, it should raise a question. Technical coaches are essential in creating technical players. There’s no substitute for their expertise. This is how we confirm that our coaches are truly Stellar.
Competition
At the Academy level, we prioritize internal competition for the majority of the season while planning to participate in external youth soccer tournaments monthly. This approach results in less weekly travel, allowing for more individual development during our soccer training sessions and providing flexibility in scaling external competition as needed. We can regularly adjust competition levels based on our players' progress and how their team dynamics are evolving.
Stellar stands out by focusing on the player rather than just club registration numbers.
It's important to recognize that large team rosters and frequent league play are primarily an American method of soccer, not widely practiced globally. In most countries, league play or larger team sizes are introduced at later ages, typically in late middle school or high school. Instead, many countries utilize small-sided play, much like Stellar, as their primary development approach. This format leads to more touches on the ball and greater opportunities for player development.
Teams and Tournaments
In-house teams are selected to create the most challenging competition levels while minimizing players on the sideline. Players will regularly compete in our Match Day concept, a unique event that incorporates small-sided games and team competition, enhancing our youth soccer training experience. This is another feature that differentiates Stellar as it confidently pioneers innovative approaches in the Academy+.
Tournament teams are chosen monthly to provide additional opportunities for player competition engagement and skill development. Selection for tournament teams is not guaranteed for every player and largely depends on individual skill, development, attendance, and roster availability.
External Friendlies and Tournaments are planned for the Central Texas region, with the potential for competitions outside the region if there is sufficient interest and participation.
Seasons
Our outdoor soccer program for youth soccer enthusiasts runs from August through April each seasonal year. We plan for a minimum of two tournaments in the Fall and two in the Spring. The off-season months, which occur between Fall and Spring, include special programming, soccer training sessions, indoor competitions, and additional tournaments that are not included in regular season fees.

Pre-Academy Differences (Fall Only)
The Pre-Academy teams for youth soccer are coed and designed for beginners to intermediate players aged 4-6. These teams participate in integrated practices and games on designated practice days, with no separate game days scheduled. The Pre-Academy will not take part in external tournaments, and there are reduced fees associated with this program. However, all other aspects of player development remain consistent, providing the same level of coaching as found in the Academy+ or Select programs, ensuring quality soccer training for young athletes.
Locations
Soccer training sessions for the Academy+ can take place from Monday through Friday, with potential start times ranging between 5:00 PM and 6:15 PM. The practice locations will include School District facilities, County facilities, or local fields currently under development. The most likely schedule will involve two weekdays, with some Fridays included; a third day may also feature Technical and/or Goalkeeping Development focused on youth soccer skills. Weekends will be designated for Tournaments, External Competitions, and Friendlies. Additionally, some weekend days may be utilized to make up for any missed weekday sessions when necessary. External Friendlies and Tournaments are expected to be organized within the Hill Country/Austin region.
